Following their ultra successful campaign in 2009 in the Cronin Motorsport, Cremin Coaches liveried Mitsubishi Evo IX, the reigning British Rally Champions will not be competing together, at least for the first rally of the 2010 campaign.
The Cronin Motorsport team recently decided to contest the full Irish Tarmac Championship alongside their commitment to defend the BRC crown. However, with the extended programme of events it was uncertain if navigator Greg Shinnors would be in a position to compete on all events due to work commitments. The consistency of the navigator and familiarity between driver and co-driver has been the foundation of the team’s tremendous success over the last two seasons. With this consistency in mind it was agreed that Greg will not be competing on the Galway International Rally. Discussions are taking place with a number of other co-drivers to determine availability for the entire season. Speaking this evening from his Limerick home, Greg Shinnors stated that he had enjoyed all of his time to date with the Cronin Motorsport team and did not rule out a return in the future. He wished to thank everybody who had contributed in any way to their successful British Rally Championship campaign. He stated that he was 100% behind Keith in his career and wished the team the best of luck in 2010 and beyond. He also wished to thank all of his work colleagues who have always been very understanding about his rallying commitments. At present, no replacement for Greg has been named, but there should be further news in this regard early next week.
