Last Monday Keith and Greg returned from their historic victory in Yorkshire to a tumultuous reception in West Cork. They were greeted by thousands of people who lined the route from Kealkil to Bantry town and finally to Ballylickey, where about 2,000 people had gathered to welcome home their heroes!

The team and the winning car were carried along the route on the back of a recovery truck, but, for the final few hundred yards of their journey, they drove the rally car as the Ballingeary Pipe Band led them to the car park of Ouvane Falls Bar and Restaurant, where a stage had been erected in preparation of the event.
A number of dignitaries had gathered from Political, Social and Motorsport backgrounds and many spoke of their pride in being associated with such an historic occasion.
The main theme throughout the evening was that after a 35 year wait, nobody could have asked for 2 better Motorsport Ambassadors to represent us than the new BRC Champions.
Keith acknowledged, in his own speech, that his supporters club was vital to his success and he thanked all who had joined the club since its inception.
This week will see Keith and Greg taking part in their third Pirelli shootout in just under 12months. They could, perhaps, be forgiven for not being too enthusiastic this time around after the disappointment the have had on previous rounds.
The participants on this Shootout were chosen from the participants on this year’s British Rally Championship rounds. Keith was chosen on the opening round(Bulldog) and was followed by, Craig Breen(Pirelli), Euan Thorburn(Jim Clarke), Alastair Fisher(Rally Isle of Man), Marty McCormack(Ulster Rally), Stuart Jones(Yorkshire Rally). In addition to that two drivers were to be chosen from the Junior one make championships and Luke Pinder who won the Suzuki championship was chosen but at this point it is unclear who, if anybody will represent the Citroen c2 challenge as the winner of that(Marty McCormack) has already qualified!
The shootout is to take place on Wednesday and Thursday at an undisclosed location(East of the Irish Sea) and will involve fitness tests, Interview skills and ultimately driving skills which will be determined in 2 cars, one front wheel drive and the other 4 wheel drive.
The winner will be announced on Thursday evening, but the winning prize(a funded drive in the BRC 2010) will not be fully unveiled until the BRC prize giving on 31st October! The Make and type of car is the main secret in this regard!
