After a fabulous year rallying in the U.K which exhausted the years budget, Cronin Motorsport make the expensive journey to Austria to represent Ireland in The Pirelli Star Driver Shootout.

To help with the cost of this extra event in Keiths year, Cronin Motorsport is looking for financial and moral support to contest this prestigious event.

The Pirelli Star Driver scheme is a worldwide search for five young rally drivers (max. 27 years old) from each of the 2008 and 2009 FIA Regional Championships.

It is organized by FIA and sponsored by Pirelli.

18 European Countries plus the host-country Austria, the Nacam Zone (Central America) and Codasur Zone (South America) have each been invited by FIA to nominate one driver to compete for 2 places in the World Championship 2009.

The successful drivers will contest a series of six World Championship rallies in 2009, driving identical Group N or Super 2000 cars supplied and serviced under an FIA contract with a specialist preparation company.

Flight Information:
Ryanair fly London Stansted to Linz, Austria - which is only 52km south west of Freistadt (less than 1 hour).
Ryanair fly into Stansted from Shannon, Kerry or Dublin.
Another option would be to fly direct from Dublin to Salzburg but this is further to the south west of Linz.
The team is flying Cork to Stansted & Stansted to Linz on the Wednesday & return via the same route (2 separate flights each time) on Sunday.

It is a hostel/ youth centre with a restaurant, car parking etc, rates €25 single room & €44 twin room.
