This was probably the most difficult win that I have ever had as we had to pace ourselves from so early on.

We started brilliantly by taking two stage wins on the first two tests and by the end of stage two, we had a lead of over 30 seconds.

We were really happy with this and we decided we would try and preserve this lead on the next two stages.

I felt I backed off a bit too much on those tests and then decided to push a bit harder on the next tests - I knew that to preserve the lead it would be better to attack a bit harder than what we went on SS3 and SS4 so we got the head down.

We were under a bit of pressure at this stage, as I didn't want to make any mistakes when I had such a good lead, but I had a great feeling with the stages and the car. It felt so natural, so we pushed on and set fastest times on the remaining four stages of the rally.

It is an immense feeling to win - to come here and win like that gives me great confidence for the rest of the season and the defence of my title.

The car performed brilliantly as did my whole team, thanks to Barry, Colm, Pirelli and the whole TEG team for such a brilliant result.

I would like to thank all of you who supported me in the forests and all of you that have sent texts and emails, once again thank you, your support means the world to me.

Finally, it is only four weeks to the next BRC event and I cannot wait to get started.

Remeber, keep the race in its place and I'll see you on the stages!
