Running as zero car on the Malcolm Wilson Rally was a good experience as it is important to get as much time in the car before the British Rally Championship begins.

The TEG prepared Subaru Impreza felt really good in the corners and it turns in superbly. I was able to hold the inside line of bends and the car felt good.

However, the car had a lot more oversteer than I am used to and I will need more time in the car to tell if this is an Impreza trait.

A downside was the weather, Cumbria is still suffering with a lot of wintry conditions and many of the stages were covered in snow and ice. This meant that I had to take it a bit easier than I would have liked.

There was one stage that was clear and we went fairly well on it. This meant that we could not learn a great deal from running as the zero car, but every Km spent in the car is benefitial.

I will be trying to organize some more pre-championship testing but we will have to wait and see.

I am off to London for the launch of the British Rally Championship but I will blog soon and let you know how it goes…
