This will be my second trip to the Yorkshire Rally, having had my first taste of the BRC at last years event.  On that occasion we finished third overall and we met the BRC regulars and introduced ourselves to them as we used the event to gauge our speed against the Regular BRC Competitors!

One year on and we find that a win will make us BRC Champions!
Things happen fast and we never thought at the start of the year that we could be this close to winning the championship at our first attempt.
It was disappointing not to finish Ulster although I knew that it was not really important to get a good result on that event as it was always going to come down to Yorkshire. In Ulster I did not feel any pressure because of this and we had e good pace over the first 5 stages an held a nice lead. On the sixth stage, a repeat of an earlier one, i took a slightly differently line on a series of bends than I had taken on the earlier run. The first time, we had beaten all but 2 of the WRC cars, however on the second run, the car got out of line and despite correcting it, the rear of the car did not behave and we went off. We were lucky that it was not a bigger accident as it was a fifth gear corner!
After we got the car fixed we did "00" duties on The Lakeland stages in Enniskillen to ensure that the car was back up to speed! We were very concious that we had an important role as course car and we also had to experience the very loose gravel on the road as one of the first cars, but we still managed a number of fastest times as the day progressed and we were happy with the experience!
Ultimately, the event was all about getting the car(and crew) back up to BRC gravel spec and i think that it was a sucessful event in that regard! I am very grateful to the organisers for allowing me to participate!
I'm really looking forward to the Trackrod although I know that there is a certain amount of pressure on me too. I know from last year that it is a long tough event and it will be a real challenge. Hopefully we can rise to the occasion!
