Ballylickeys Keith Cronin and his Enniskillen co-driver, Barry McNulty, carved a little piece of motorsport history for themselves today as they joined a very elite group of Irishmen who have managed to win the International Rally Isle of Man or Manx International as it was formerly known.
The late Frank Meagher (in 1995)was the only other driver from south of the border that managed to win this highly prestigious event.

As the 2010 British Rally Championship passes the half way mark, there are many potential contenders for this year’s crown.
This year, as last year, the man in pole position at the halfway mark is an Irishman. Last time around Keith Cronin led the championship, upholding the honours for the southern side of the Island but, this year, that honour goes north of the border as Jonny Greer is in the driving seat of the championship at the halfway point.
The story is somewhat different, however, when one allows for the dropped scores and when these are taken into account, Keith Cronin and Gwyndaf Evans are very much back in the picture and each are definitely still in with the chance of taking their second championship title.
